i. Program Overview
This page sets out the terms of the Sterling Claims Group SMS text messaging program, consistent with the Application-to-Person (A2P) 10DLC requirements of U.S. wireless carriers and The Campaign Registry. If you have opted in to receive text messages from us, these terms govern that communication.
ii. Program Name & Purpose
Program Name: Sterling Claims Group SMS Notifications
Program type: Transactional (case updates and service notifications only; not promotional or marketing).
Purpose: To communicate with prospective and active clients about the status of their surplus funds claim review, to deliver follow-up information requested by the recipient, to schedule calls and appointments, and to provide case-related updates where a claim has been engaged. Messages may include, by way of example:
- Confirmation that we have received your claim review request
- Appointment reminders and scheduling links
- Case-status updates (filing, hearing, disbursement)
- Document notifications and requests for information necessary to complete the claim
- Account alerts
We do not send promotional, sales, or marketing messages to the broader public through this program.
iii. Opt-In
You are enrolled in our SMS program only after explicit, affirmative consent. The primary opt-in method is the dedicated SMS consent checkbox on our contact form at /contact. The checkbox is unchecked by default, is separate from our general consent checkbox, and is not required to submit the form.
The opt-in checkbox appears on the form as follows:
Alternative opt-in channels:
- Replying “YES” or “START” to an initial confirmation message following a telephone request for text communication
- Executing an engagement letter that expressly authorizes text communications
Consent to receive SMS messages is not a condition of obtaining our services, and you may engage us by email or telephone only if you prefer.
iv. Opt-Out
You may cancel the SMS program at any time. Reply STOP to any message you receive from us and you will be removed from the program. You will receive a single confirmation message that your opt-out has been processed, after which no further messages will be sent unless you opt in again.
v. Help
For assistance, reply HELP to any of our messages and you will receive information about the program and contact details for a human. You may also email support@sterlingclaims.net or call 314-471-3627.
vi. Message Frequency
Message frequency varies. You will typically receive messages only when there is something meaningful to report on your claim, for example, a milestone update or a request for information. Some weeks you will receive nothing; during active phases of a matter, you may receive several messages in a short period.
vii. Message & Data Rates
Message and data rates may apply. Sterling Claims Group does not charge for the SMS program; however, standard text and data rates may be applied by your wireless carrier depending on your plan. Please contact your carrier for details of your plan.
viii. Data Sharing
We do not share, sell, rent, or otherwise transfer the mobile numbers of our SMS subscribers, or the contents of our messages, to third parties for marketing purposes. We use a licensed SMS infrastructure provider (the vendor that delivers the messages on our behalf) under a written agreement that restricts their use of the data to service delivery, fraud prevention, and legal compliance.
We may disclose SMS data only where required by law (subpoena, court order, or equivalent), for the investigation of fraud or abuse of the program, or with your express consent.
ix. Supported Carriers
Our program supports all major U.S. wireless carriers, including AT&T, T-Mobile, Verizon Wireless, U.S. Cellular, and most MVNOs. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
x. Privacy
Our collection and use of information, including information collected through the SMS program, is governed by our Privacy Policy. Please review it for full detail.
xi. Sample Consent Language
The following is the consent language presented next to the SMS opt-in checkbox on our claim review form. It is reproduced here for your reference:
SMS consent (as it appears on the form)
“I agree to receive SMS updates from Sterling Claims Group about my claim. Message & data rates may apply. Message frequency varies. Reply STOP to unsubscribe, HELP for assistance. See our SMS policy and Privacy Policy.”
The checkbox is unchecked by default. Consent to receive SMS is optional and is not a condition of service. Your telephone number is used only for the purpose you authorized and is protected in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
